    Born and grew up on New Zealand farm until 18 yrs old. Travelled around world with Girl Guide group then settled in Wellington. Married in 1971 and moved to Australia. Came out to parents night before going on national TV program about gay people who were married. Worked in book trade all her life. Part of Gay Rights Coalition in Wellington after marriage in the early '70s - gay sex illegal in N.Z. until around 1979. Left for UK after her first lesbian relationship broke down in 1979. After 3 months in London, moved to Manchester and worked at Women's Press as sales rep. At Grassroots bookshop met current partner. They moved to Plymouth in 1982 to run own bookshop. First Pride in 1979 and for last 8-9 years has stall at Pride selling memorabilia. Was surprised at separation of gay men and lesbian political activist groups. Is part of the Plymouth Pride Forum and has published 'Homophobia and the Bible - A Self Defence Manual' by Michael Halls.
