  • Notes: Tom. 1-4 contain the Old Testament in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Latin, with additional Latin translations of the Greek and Aramaic versions. There is, however, no Aramaic version of Chronicles, Exra I, Nehemiah or Daniel. The Apocrypha appear in Greek and Latin only, with the exception of Ezra III and IV in Latin only. Tom. 5. contains the New Testament in Greek, Latin, and Syriac both in Syriac and in Hebrew characters accompanied by a Latin translation. Tom. 6-8 contain the “Apparatus Sacer.”.

    “Actorum publicorum ... exempla” are here bound in tom. 1. “Communes ... Idiotismi” are bound in tom. 8 instead of tom. 7. Imperfect; wanting the half-title to tom. 1.
    The editor's colophon in tom. 1 is dated 1 March 1569, but the volume appears not to have been published before 1571, as the second preface bears the date 23 July 1571.
    This copy has a leaf prefixed to the title page bearing a printed inscription stating that it was presented by C. Plantin the printer to Matthias, Archduke of Austria, afterwards Emperor, during his Viceroyalty of the Netherlands, 1577-80.
