  • Description: Summary: View of the castle at the left, atop a motte adorned with a formal garden illustrated almost in bird's-eye view. To the left of the castle is the profile of the ruined church at Woolsthorpe, which fills the bottom right corner, and frames the prospect of the distant castle behind. Below, pushing into the image, are the arms of the dedicatee, John Manners, 3rd Duke of Rutland (1696-1779), in between the dedication itself and a brief introduction to the castle.
